STEP 1: Creating an Virtual Stock Exchange Account

1. Go to http://www.marketwatch.com/game

2. Click on JOIN NOW. Then click on “Get your FREE membership now”

3. Enter your school email address, password, and YOUR REAL NAME for display name.

4. UNCHECK all Newsletters and Alerts and Communication so you don’t get junk mail .

5. Write down your email and password so you don’t forget it. I also will need it.

6. Click Create Profile

7. Wait for the email they send to complete the registration.

8. Click the link in the email and then you are registered.

Step 2: Setup your own private Practice Portfolio

Go to the Game Link-it’s all the way to the right on the top.

Click on it.

Choose skill level Advanced

Create a Game Name- YOURNAMEPRACTICE (no spaces)

Important! Use the following settings during the 5-step process.

• Start date : TODAY, End Date: End of the Semester

• Allow students to join

• Game tagline: Practice

• Click: NEXT STEP

• Allow trading of ALL symbols NEXT STEP

• Set privacy to PUBLIC (this is ok) NEXT STEP

• Starting Cash: $100,000

• Commissions: $10.00

• Credit Interest Rate: 3%

• Debt Interest Rate 6%

• Stock Price Limitations: Minimum price $.50-no maximum

• Trading volume limitation: 100%

• Enable selling short: YES

• Enable margin selling: YES

• Enable limit orders: YES

• Enable stop loss orders: YES

• Enable partial shares: YES

Click Next Step

Then Click CREATE GAME

Click: JOIN

Now you can start TRADING
